February 22, 2012
Attendance: Diane Sauvageau (Chair), Phil Cliffe, Gregory Frotton, Carol Gilkinson, Pat Sjodt, Jamie Somerville, Scott York
Minutes from last meeting were approved as presented.
Scott reported that he has been using Prezi more and that they are getting ready for the sixth grade tours.
Phil is waiting for the P.O. for the Web site for Oak Knoll.
Pat reported that computer lab is open on Wednesdays for parents and children. The second grade team is rotating "computer lab" time for Study Island.
Jamie reported that "student Tech Team is starting up and shutting down the computer lab. In grades 4, 5, and 6 working on increasing from one computer to two computers per classroom.
Carol mentioned the ISTE Conference. This year the conference is in San Diego. Sessions are being ticketed. The tickets are at no cost, but you have to have a ticket to get into the sessions. Space is filling fast.
There was a discussion regarding Common Core. The Model Library Standards may effect this committee the most. There are Keyboarding requirements in the third grade standards. There was discussion regarding testing requirements (Grades 3, 6, 8, and 11)
Looking forward: The committee needs to plan for adding lessons to the Character Counts in a Digital World document. Also, what topics need to be covered for the first month of school.
